Gathering both Friday and Saturday in prayer and cheering, the Hoosier Catholic community supported the men's and women's teams as they competed in their first Little 500 races.
For teams of all rookies, both teams performed admirably and raced hard. The women finished 20th and the men, after an early race crash, finished 28th.
On Saturday, March 23, the men's team qualified 8th and the women's team qualified 22nd. Please cheer them on as they make final preparations for the Little 500.
At the beginning of the year, Fr. Joesph blessed us and our bikes to keep us safe as we train and race!
We are bringing back cycling to the Hoosier Catholic community! The very first Godspeed team, and last, was in 2002 and was only a men's team. This year we are forming both men and women's teams to compete in The Little 500. This legendary race is known as "The World's Greatest College Weekend," and is the largest collegiate bike race in the United States. We want to create a solid foundation for both men and women's teams for years to come.
The Catholic community on IU Bloomington's campus is massive and a big reason why we are starting this. It gives an opportunity to evangelize our faith, grow in mind, body, and spirit, and also to simply give everyone a reason to watch and celebrate the weekend with the rest of IU! With such a huge event, we will be able to connect with new people outside the Catholic community while strengthening and creating new bonds from within.
We are so excited to build this foundation for our community where we hope to build a competitive and lasting name in this amazing race!

Godspeed Cycling is back and here to stay for the Hoosier Catholics! This will be the second year Hoosier Catholic has both a men's and woman's team planning to compete in the Little 500 Race. All of our riders are members of Hoosier Catholic. This is such an amazing opportunity to evangelize our faith and grow in mind, body, and spirit together. We are so excited to build the foundation for a team that will be around for many years to come!
